In a community effort to enhance the Isle of Man’s natural landscape, members of the Rotary Club of Douglas, along with local volunteers, gathered this morning at the Crossags to kick off an ambitious tree-planting project.

At 10:00am, the team arrived to find 300 marker stakes already set out, marking the locations for the first batch of young trees. With a brisk start, the volunteers were quickly at work, digging, planting, and staking, transforming the field with fresh greenery.

By 11:00am, progress was clearly visible, with rows of young trees already lining the landscape. Just an hour later, at noon, the team had reached their target, completing the planting of 300 trees in a single morning.

The Rotary Club of Douglas thanked everyone involved for their hard work and commitment, noting that the day’s accomplishment marks only the beginning of the project. With 1,200 more trees to plant over the coming months, this initiative is part of a larger environmental goal to re-green and restore the island’s natural beauty.

Community members interested in joining future planting days are encouraged to keep an eye on Rotary Club of Douglas announcements or visit their Facebook page for updates.
