Google has announced that Google Street View vehicles will return to the Isle of Man from July through November 2025 to refresh and expand the island’s appearance on Google Maps. Over the past 15 years, Street View has gradually mapped much of the Isle of Man; this visit will replace older imagery with sharper, up-to-date photographs and seek to extend coverage.

During the four-month campaign, the familiar Street View car (equipped with a multi-lens rooftop camera, GPS, inertial sensors and LiDAR) will explore roads streets across the island. It is likely that Google’s portable Trekker backpack will be deployed on foot, bicycle or off-road vehicle to ensure even the most confined routes are documented. Google says that faces and vehicle licence plates will be blurred before any images are published online.

Although the team aims to complete its sweeps by November, Google says that schedules may adjust in response to weather or road conditions.
