The Isle of Man’s unemployment rate stands at 1.60 per cent, according to the latest estimate published by Statistics Isle of Man.

That figure represents 718 islanders unemployed and actively looking for work in September 2025, only a slight fall from 722 in August, showing that the job market has barely shifted. This represents a minor variation in the unemployment rate of 1.61% in August 2025 to 1.60% in September 2025. This is marginally higher than the 1.57% rate in September 2024.

With the Island’s economy under strain from high living costs, public-sector bloat, and sluggish productivity growth, the data provides a sobering reminder that too many Manx workers remain on the sidelines.
