The Manx TaxPayers&#8217; Alliance have some ideas to help her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Manx Radio reported recently:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Manx Labour Party&#8217;s Sarah Maltby says politicians need to have the confidence to admit when services aren&#8217;t working and stop them.<\/p>\n<cite><a href=\"https:\/\/www.manxradio.com\/news\/isle-of-man-news\/government-should-have-confidence-to-stop-services-that-arent-working\/\">Government should have confidence to stop services that aren&#8217;t working<\/a><\/cite><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;Maltby is right. The Government could start by cutting its extreme levels of corporate welfare, introducing big reforms to a so-called &#8216;planning&#8217; system that requires individual permission for even trivial building enhancements, and wasting big chunks of taxpayer money on marketing,&#8221; said Michael Josem of the Manx TaxPayers&#8217; Alliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Isle of Man Government could cut the following Government services and rules:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/taxpayersalliance.im\/isle-of-man-government-to-increase-home-heating-costs\/\">Stop the plan to increase Manx home heating costs<\/a> by banning gas and oil heating in new homes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/taxpayersalliance.im\/easyjet-adds-uk-domestic-flights-but-high-tax-isle-of-man-left-out\/\">Cut the Isle of Man&#8217;s unusually high taxes on aircraft passengers<\/a> flying within these Isles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/taxpayersalliance.im\/positive-proposals-to-introduce-in-the-isle-of-man-in-2023\/\">Cut the high and unfair taxes on Manx TVs<\/a> to fund British broadcasting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/taxpayersalliance.im\/positive-proposals-to-introduce-in-the-isle-of-man-in-2023\/\">Deregulate and decriminalise tree planting<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/taxpayersalliance.im\/positive-proposals-to-introduce-in-the-isle-of-man-in-2023\/\">Cut back occupational licensing<\/a>, by introducing mutual recognition with leading jurisdictions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/taxpayersalliance.im\/positive-proposals-to-introduce-in-the-isle-of-man-in-2023\/\">Shut down much of the Isle of Man Government&#8217;s social media operations<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/taxpayersalliance.im\/taxpayers-fork-out-7000-for-curran-report\/\">Stop funding foreign researchers<\/a> to tell Manx families how to live their lives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/taxpayersalliance.im\/manx-government-to-make-inflation-worse-by-further-stimulating-economy\/\">Stop spending on hairbrained schemes which increase inflation<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/taxpayersalliance.im\/ashford-adds-to-concerns-over-teacher-recruitment\/\">Hire teachers instead of excessive Government bureaucrats<\/a> in the Department of Education.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/taxpayersalliance.im\/new-covid-side-effect-revealed-government-bureaucrats-gain-free-parking\/\">Restore parking charges for Government elite<\/a>s which were cut in response to COVID.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/taxpayersalliance.im\/part-time-public-health-director-is-good-news-for-people-of-mann\/\">Maintain the Public Health Director as a part-time job<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;These are great ideas to improve the Isle of Man, and we are proud to support Maltby in her efforts to cut this wastage of taxpayer money,&#8221; said Josem.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Manx Labour Party&#8217;s Sarah Maltby is right to call to cut failing Government services, according to the Manx TaxPayers&#8217; Alliance.
